DCP#3
1. Find a picture of an animal with an adaptation and explain how the adaptation is going to help that organism survive in it's environment.
This snow fox adapts to the cold climate it lives in because its white fur blends into the white snow.
2. List 2 ways humans have caused changes in populations of organisms.
Humans can hunt animals causing there to be less of its kind.
Humans also cut down trees giving less living space to the animals causing them to die off.
3. How have humans negatively affected various populations?
Humans have done deforestation causing less living spaces for various populations causing them to die.
4. What would happen to other organisms in a marine food web if human impact negatively affected one type of organism?
If humans killed all small fish then the animals that eat the small fish would have no food and die.
5. How has over harvesting or over fishing negatively affected the aquatic ecosystem?
There are now less fish so the animals that those fish ate are increasing in population.
6. What is bacteria's role in the ecosystem? How do they obtain nutrients?
Bacteria is a decomposer and obtain nutrients from the broken down dead animals.
7. Describe a producer/consumer relationship in the food web below.
The rabbit is a consumer because it eats the green plant which is a producer.
8. Find a picture of a parasite/host relationship and explain which organism is the parasite and which one is the host.
The flea is the parasite and they dog is the host because the flea sucks the dogs blood.
9. Describe a predator/prey relationship in the food web below.
The owl is the predator and the mouse is the prey because the owl eats the mouse.
10. How many atoms are present in the molecule below?
24
11. How do you know by looking at a bohr model which elements are in the same group?
If they have the same number of valence electrons.
12. What information is given when we have the chemical formula for a substance?
Gives types of atoms and amount of atoms.
13. Describe evidence of a chemical reaction.
Color change, bubbles, etc.
14. Does the equation below follow the Law of Conservation of Mass?
Yes
15. How to valence electrons tell us how reactive an element is?
Because it puts it in a group showing its reactivity.
16. Describe examples of chemical and physical changes in the digestive system.
It is a physical change when you chew food and chemical when the stomach acid breaks down the food.
